Laodikeia, located in the middle of the Lycos Plain and on the southwestern border of the Phrygian region, was one of the largest metropolises in Anatolia. The city’s golden age ranged from the Roman Imperial Period to the Early Byzantine Period. The city felt the hegemony of various kingdoms: first the Seleucids, then Pergamenes, and finally the Romans.
